Built up
Roof (BUR ) is a membrane Roofing system made up of asphalt or tar saturated felt,

There are three types of built up roofing;

TPO, or Thermoplastic Polyolefin, is a compound material formulated as a synthetic rubber that is durable as EPDM M – class rubber. The difference with TPO, in relation to other materials, is that it can be bonded or fused together without need of a taping system. When TPO is bonded it generates a solid and massive structure that can cover an entire roof. With this kind of roofing system, a strong and durable base is established. In more traditional roofing, the seaming can be the weakest area. With a TPO system, the worry of seaming is eliminated. Both commercial and residential property owners are turning to replacement of their regular roofing with TPO membranes as they know they are getting an extraordinarily solid and enduring roof.

Fluid – Applied and Sprayed Roof Systems:

The two main purposes of fluid applied roofing systems are:

1. to protect roof membranes for longer roof life cycles
2. to reflect solar radiation for lower energy costs.

Roof traffic pads or roof walkways provide a protective walkway over built up or elastic draw make roofs. Install traffic pads to areas for security or service personnel needs access. As a rule of thumb, install a walkway when more than five people a month will walk over the same path on a roof. Also install pads in areas subject to damage from drop tools and parts.
