BUR

Built up
Roof (BUR ) is a membrane Roofing system made up of asphalt or tar saturated felt,
cold it felt, fabrics or mats with alternate layers of asphalt or pitch Bitumen. The broad
membrane roofing classification also includes elastomeric roofing

There are three types of built up roofing;

Aggregate surface Roofing, which uses a layer of aggregate it in bedded in a flood coat of Bitumen. Bitumen makes a BUR waterproof. Felts make it strong and flexible so the roof can expand and contract. It properly installed in regularly maintained, the life expectancy of a BUR is 20 years or more. Besides long life, they have another advantage; be our systems are extremely resilient to win left.

Cold tar Bitumen also known as coal tar pits, is a product of the distillation of coal tar in the manufacture of Coke or gas. It is softer than asphalt. It has excellent self healing properties after it’s called and is virtually unaffected by water.

Cold Tar pitch is more expensive than asphalt. But despite its higher cost, it’s recomm ended on dead level roofs and low slope roof’s with slow drainage and occasional ponding. Call Tara Benjamin is required on roofs designed to retain water. It’s also recommended in highly corrosive environments.

EPDM Elastomeric Roofing

EPDM consist of vulcanized rubber base membranes that are compatible with almost any roofing surface, including foam or asphalt base and insulation products. But EPDM membranes are not compatible with and should never be installed with either plastic cement or dead level asphalt. Your color choice for EPDM is limited; It’s only available in black and inquire. If the job requires a light reflective surface, you can apply a high blah blah on coding over the surface of the EPDM membranes on a fully adhered or mechanically fast ened systems.

PVC Roofing

PVC elastomeric roofing is normally manufactured in rolls of 5‘x 72‘long. Stabilize PVC is resistant to ultraviolet light and is virtually in previous to water vapor. But PVC frequently loses its class stick this server with he at aging and becomes more brittle over time. Before heat 18, some PVC membrane stretch up to three times the original size in any direction. PC electronica roofing is appropriate for ballasted, mechanically fastened or fully adhered systems. You can fully here PVC Roofing Concrete, plywood or approved installations.

Metal Roofing and Siding

Sheet metal used and Roofing is made of galvanize steel, stainless steel, copper, let copper zinc copper aluminum copper or any combination of metal alloy’s. Any metal sheet heavier than 30 gauge is called sheet metal. You can expect a metal roof to last 25 to 30 years. Although some types can rest, you can restore them with the special paint that contains a plastic fiber which covers the metal and helps prevent deterioration. Metal panels are rigid and highly resistant to wind uplift. But even a corner works loose, and a strong wind can blow the entire panel off. Metal panels usually have low fire rating because they’re such a good conductor of heat. The only way to mitigate this is to surround the panels with fire proofing material. And unless the insulation between the roof and the building interior, metal panel rules are very noisy during rain and hail storms. Sheet metals are either cold rolled or hot rod. Several properties of the sheet – metal depend on the metals ignorance to temperature during rolling cold rolled sheet metal has a lower carbon content. While it’s more valuable than hot roll sheet metal, cold weld sheet – metal has the advantage of being weaker.

TPO Roofing

There are options when it comes to replacing a commercial roof and that includes the use of single – ply roofing membranes that are basically divided into two categories. One is thermoplastic membranes and the other is thermoset membranes. TPO is a single-ply thermoplastic membrane that has gained considerable recognition in today’s marketplace and is used on commercial structures.
TPO, or Thermoplastic Polyolefin, is a compound material formulated as a synthetic rubber that is durable as EPDM M – class rubber. The difference with TPO, in relation to other materials, is that it can be bonded or fused together without need of a taping system. When TPO is bonded it generates a solid and massive structure that can cover an entire roof. With this kind of roofing system, a strong and durable base is established. In more traditional roofing, the seaming can be the weakest area. With a TPO system, the worry of seaming is eliminated. Both commercial and residential property owners are turning to replacement of their regular roofing with TPO membranes as they know they are getting an extraordinarily solid and enduring roof.

Fluid – Applied and Sprayed Roof Systems:

The two main purposes of fluid applied roofing systems are:

1. to protect roof membranes for longer roof life cycles
2. to reflect solar radiation for lower energy costs.

Reflective white coating consists of a binder blended with pigments and other additives. There are hundreds of different white coating products which are formulated and manufactured by numerous companies. Most can be classified according to the binder they use.

Fluid applied insulation systems, which are typically used in conjunction with many of the
following types of roof protection coatings.

  • Sprayed Polyurethane Foam
  • Silicone
  • Urethane
  • Acrylic
  • Polyurea

Roof Traffic Pads

Roof traffic pads or roof walkways provide a protective walkway over built up or elastic draw make roofs. Install traffic pads to areas for security or service personnel needs access. As a rule of thumb, install a walkway when more than five people a month will walk over the same path on a roof. Also install pads in areas subject to damage from drop tools and parts. Rubber walkway pads are also available. These pads resemble a heavy d oormat and are manufactured in 3 x 3 panels colors normally range in black or white
